Global average internet speed according to Netflix

Here you can find the average speed of the internet for each country as measured by Netflix:

Despite a lot of criticism Germany is actually quite high in the list (as of May 2015):
  1. Belgium: 4.06 MB/s
  2. Switzerland: 4.01 MB/s
  3. Netherlands: 3.99 MB/s
  4. Sweden: 3.8 MB/s
  5. Denmark: 3.78 MB/s
  6. Norway: 3.72 MB/s
  7. Germany: 3.72 MB/s
  8. UK: 3.5 MB/s
  9. New Zealand: 3.48 MB/s
  10. France: 3.46 MB/s
  11. Austria: 3.35 MB/s
  12. Finnland: 3.3 MB/s
  13. Canada: 3.23 MB/s
  14. USA: 3.16 MB/s
  15. Ireland: 3.12 MB/s
  16. Australia: 2.87 MB/s
  17. Uruguay: 2.82 MB/s
  18. Colombia: 2.6 MB/s
  19. Brazil: 2.57 MB/s
  20. Chile: 2.54 MB/s
Interestingly according to the graph Austria (which was amongst the Top 3 in 2014) lost a lot of speed in the last year. The reason seems to be the drastic decline of the speed for the A1 provider in Austria as can be seen from this graph:
So if you are in Austria and want to use Netflix better avoid A1 .
